Educational programme
for local youth councils

The first stage of the project focuses on the development of the educational programme for local youth councils, which consists of several publications and training modules.

Young People - Meeting With Computers

The Educational Programme for Local Youth Councils will be created based on the analysis of the current state of the art of local youth councils, as well as on the exchange of experiences and good practices identified across different countries both inside, and outside of the project partnership.

Under this stage, we aim to:

  • develop and test training modules based on non-formal education that enable local youth councils to engage marginalized youth that is usually excluded from such participatory spaces;

  • equip local youth councils with sustainable e-participation solutions that bring added value to their work;

  • equip the youth councils with knowledge and skills to affect policy making at the local level;

  • create spaces for the exchange and sharing of practices related to youth participation in decision-making at the local level between young people from different parts of the world;

  • develop a global platform (open course) that will promote the new inclusive model of local youth councils.

The work starts with an analysis of the existing projects, publications and policies in partner countries. Following that, we map good practices in local youth councils across the globe and decide on what is a quality local youth council. Based on this knowledge, we develop the main tangible deliverables of the project.
